THE JACKET

Once upon a time, there was a very cute little girl, 4 years old, with long brown curly hair. She owned a snazzy little jean jacket from Thrifty's. That girl soon had a brother and eventually it was his turn to wear the jacket. Not long afterwards, another brother came and then 3 sisters, one after the other. Each took their turn wearing the jean jacket. It must have shrunk over time because it was no longer worn on a 4 year old but instead it fit the children when they were much younger!

Well, the first little girl grew up and moved away from home and got married. Near the end of her first pregnancy, some of her friends had a blessing party for her to welcome her into the journey of motherhood. Though her mother lived far away and couldn't participate in a physical way, she decided to send her daughter a special gift. The jacket. Her daughter beamed with pride as she opened the package and shared the jacket's history with her friends. Her son, born only a few days later, would be the 7th child and the 2nd generation to wear this jacket. It fit him by 6 months old (he was a big kid)! He now has a sister of his own who proudly wears her little jean jacket!

ps - I have pictures of me wearing this jacket as a child, so if I find them (or Emma, maybe you can scan one and send it to me) I'll post one!

It's a picnic!
